Apart from the city's obvious allure, there are many why reasons our heart belongs to Paris. Synonymous with chic, effortless style and an array of romantic destinations steeped in old-world charm, few cities in the world evoke the same inspiration for us here at Amaiò. With the Spring Summer 18 shows rolling out this week, we thought we would put together our very own Paris lust list, outlining 12 reasons for you to fall in love on your next escape to the city of lights.
Whether you are looking for something special to wear or just sightseeing, this stunning department store located on the left bank's Rue de Sèvres is a true Parisian experience. A cultural encounter immersed in elegance, the store has maintained its art deco essence with a dedication to high-end quality brands over the years.
No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to Merci on the edge of the Marais. In our favorite concept store, you will find racks exhibiting French designers such as Isabel Marant and Vanessa Bruno as well as a selection of vintage and designer furniture. And the Used Book Café has the best scones in town.
The museum is dedicated to the works of famous French artist Auguste Rodin and it features artwork and sculptures nestled into a heavenly rose garden, a highlight in itself. It's a favorite spot among locals and those of us in the know. We love it to escape the heat and the crowds during a Paris summer.
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
One of the city’s largest green spaces, Buttes Chaumont provides panoramic views of the city of Paris. Pack a bottle of wine and a picnic and relax at sundown on the park's idyllic landscaped slopes.
The Ritz Hotel
One of the most luxurious hotels in the world, the awe-inspiring Ritz still has a feeling of accessibility amongst all its glitz and glamour. With a long list of elite enchanted by its avant-garde atmosphere, including Coco Chanel, the hotel remains a popular host to fashion's elite today. Be sure to head down to the memorabilia-filled Bar Hemingway for a nightcap. A personal highlight for us.
For a more intimate experience, we recommend this discreet designer hotel in the Eastern neighborhood of Paris with only 18 rooms, which are all individually designed featuring stunning House of Hackney wallpaper. The best part? Each room is also complete with its own in-room cocktail bar and incredible rooftop views over the city and the hills of Montmartre.
We adore sitting in this classic French bistro’s outdoor terrace where you can take in the city’s spectacular views. One of the house specialties is the simple croque monsieur a la truffe - their classic melted cheese sandwich with truffles, an altogether out-of-this-world French experience.
One of our favorite spots for people-watching in the Haut Marais—across the street from Paris’s oldest covered market, the Marché des Enfants Rouges, you’ll find a great authentic neighborhood café. It is one of the most charming cafés in the Marais, thanks to its lavish menu and retro ambiance.
