Fashionable swimwear: a tour of the trends
Swimsuit – clothes for swimming and relaxing on the beach, as well as an indispensable element of the summer closet.
Global brands often include swimsuits in spring-summer collections, but rarely emphasize them. Fashion Week is held in summer, in June and July and sets the trends for the current year.
So you don’t have to wait until mid-summer to come out on the catwalks and show new swimsuits, we have collected the main summer trends from fashion shows.

Shiny
Fashion calls for sparkle and offers swimwear with sequins, sequins and lurex threads. At the Coperni show designers showed panties with dazzling shine, and Schiaparelli brand decided not to limit to the bottom and presented a shining swimsuit embroidered with rhinestones.
The trend was quickly picked up by ready-to-wear brands: O’stin presented a classic two-piece swimsuit with lurex, and Calzedonia showed a model with sequins on the bodice and elastic panties.

Retro swimwear with an inflated waist is what you need to correct the figure and emphasize appetizing thighs. The most popular models are in the style of the 40’s – covering the sides.
If you do not want to hide your hips, look for classic swim trunks with an inflated waistline, as shown at Chanel, or even small panties with thin elastic bands, as demonstrated by LaQuan Smith at the show in New York.
Swimwear can be combined with any kind of top: a classic bustier, push-up bodices, bondage tops, asymmetric models in the best traditions of minimalism.
Knitted
Knitted swimsuit is not the most practical solution for swimming, but a spectacular option for beachwear when you want to stand out among the hundreds of vacationers in lycra swimwear. Anna Sui and Etro brands decided to support individuality and at the spring-summer fashion week they presented knitted models. It did not look boring.
Creative design
The beach is no place for modesty, so if you like a swimsuit with an unusual cut or with a non-standard finish, this year feel free to get them out of the closet. One way to surprise people around you is to choose a model with voluminous decoration, like on Schiaparelli show in Paris.
With metal details
The world of accessories is conquered by chains: they are used to decorate trendy belts, handbags and jewelry. The beach fashion also can’t avoid metal. Minimalist metallic details are a hit.

There’s no better way to accentuate the waist and bring the body closer to an hourglass figure than to use a belt, as popular model Romy Strayed does.
Vibrant prints.
Stand out, as Missoni, Priscavera and Schiaparelli models do, especially since bright prints and their mix are a definite trend this season.
Slip on or off, with or without decor, bikini and slip-ons – any your choice in combination with bright animal, floral or abstract prints will be a fashionable solution for summer.
Fitted

Textured
The real hit of this season is textured swimwear. Usually these models are made of spandex and polyester mixture, having a textured surface. They perfectly fit the body and dry quickly, and also have a high comfort and a certain cosiness.
