Men’s beach fashion
Summer, beach, sea… The words that encourage us to count the weeks and days until vacation – and the closer we get, the more harrowing the time goes. But the time comes, and plane takes us to warm shores, where we forget about the working routine with a clear conscience and greedily allow the sun to embrace our body, which has lost all the last year’s tan. “All for these days,” reads the slogan of an advertisement. And indeed, it’s worth good preparation: choose an interesting place, book a hotel and, of course, take the right clothes for the beach.
Shoes for the beach
Beach shoes should be light, comfortable and preferably quick-drying. And that’s where rubber slippers, the same ones that style magazines never tire of writing about as a mauvais ton when men wear them in town, come in handy.
Rubber flip-flops.
And rightly so: even in a resort town, it’s best to have a change of shoes to go out for a walk outside the beach. They can be topsiders, loafers, or any other lightweight shoes. But rubber flip-flops are best left in your hotel room. Here’s another great option for urban promenade, Birkenstocks, – if not the most stylish, but comfortable cork-based summer shoes:

Slip-ons or espadrilles will also look good with shorts or lightweight pants:

For rocky beaches and even more so in places inhabited by sea urchins and other dangerous creatures for the human foot, it will not be out of place to have rubber shoes that completely cover the foot. In it, as you understand, you can enter the water with not the most smooth bottom without fear:
Headwear.
Depending on your swimwear style (discussed below) and the rest of your clothing, you can choose a headgear. Here are three options that will both protect you from sunstroke and complement your beach kit:
A straw hat.
Panama
Baseball cap
Choose natural, breathable materials: straw (for the hat), or cotton for the panama or cap. Synthetic fabrics are not the best choice for hot weather.
Bags
If you’re vacationing with your girlfriend, you can put all the little things (glasses, a book, gadgets) in her beach bag (I usually do). This is convenient because it saves you from having to buy a man’s beach bag. On the other hand, you in turn can save your companion from carrying extra weights and put all things in yours. Then it is worth looking at the following options:
Swimwear .
In the men’s bathing suit, we are interested in style, color, as well as material and construction.
Colors and patterns can be very different – from modest monochrome to bright and unconventional:
Colors of bathing shorts
Very bright and warm colors are suitable for tanned dark skin. Darker colors are good for fair skin. You will most likely need two pairs on vacation, so take both – for the first days and the next, when you’re already tanned:
Bright and dark swim trunks for men.
The style can play a decisive role, since short swim trunks and swim shorts – things, you might say, from different universes.
As for length, I wouldn’t recommend going to extremes and wearing both too short and too long swim trunks. The option on the left is blatantly obscene, the one on the right is something from California in the ’90s that doesn’t look classy today:
Short and Long Swimwear
Here, too, an analogy with shorts begs to be made, as the acceptable length of swim trunks today is very similar to the current length of regular men’s shorts. Here’s a range of lengths that can be worn risk-free for men on the beach:
The correct length of men’s swim trunks
Tight-fitting short swim shorts are possible, but they will still not be quite decent to visit a coastal café, a hotel restaurant or just walk around town.
